Polyglycol DME

Polyglymes - Polyethylene glycol dimethyl ethers

Polyglymes
CAS: 24991-55-7
Polyglymes are mainly used as special, high boiling solvents for several chemical reactions (e.g., depolymerization, hydrogenation).

Several active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) are produced in polyglymes as solvents.

Polyglymes are also used as phase transfer catalysts (PTC) as substitutes for crown ethers and quarternary ammonium compounds (quats).
For detailed technical information about the use of polyglycol dimethyl ethers in phasetransfer catalyzed reactions, please download our brochures.

The polyethylene glycol dimethyl ethes with molecular weights of 200 and 250 are used as absorption liquids for waste and flue gas scrubbing, for the absorption of VOCs, sweetening of natural gas, desulfurization of synthesis gas in IGCC processes and more.
